What is new in onArcade 2.3?

onArcade 2.3 has many changes, this page gives short overview of these changes.

• jQuery

onArcade JavaScript code has been rewritten using jQuery to ensure better cross-browser compatibility and to add some nice effects.

• Game feeds

Easy access to many different game feeds with thousands of games and new games added every day. Also support for Mochi games scores.

• Time zones

Site owner can now change time zone and users can also chose their own time zones.

• Champions

Champions box on index page (Grand masters mod) with all champions page.

• Best games

Best games scroller on index page (Games scroller).

• File info tabs

File info on file page has been separated under tabs to save room. Also new social media buttons.

• Spam comments hidden

Comments that have been reported more than 3 times are now hidden from users, but they can still be read when hovering over.

• More accurate related files

Related files now user search function using file tags to find really similar files.

• Search using index

Search now uses full-text index. This means faster searches when you have lots of files.

• New full screen function

Files are now opened in full screen using JavaScript, no page reload necessary.

• New template editor

No need to worry about global list, simpler and more html link syntax (e.g. close {if $a == 2} with {/if}), new {include file.php} tag and syntax highlighting.

• Search engine bots

Add, remove and edit bots. Know when they have visited your site. Bots do not see plugs, before file ads and they are not counted in statistics.

• Improved link exchange

Add plugs to links, easily search for plugs on other sites. Hits in and out only counted once in 24 hours. Today's and yesterday’s statistics.

• Easier to use and faster admin panel

Tabs for adding and editing content. Pagination using AJAX.

• Favorites page in UserCP

Favorites page in UserCP that lists all Favorites and allows deleting them.

• BB code buttons

All BB code tags now have buttons (quote, URL and image). Added new center and right tags.

• Delete inactive members

It is possible to delete members who have not been online for certain amount of days.

• Tar installer

Easily install IPB games in tar archives.

• Custom pages with nicer URLs

Instead of numeric IDs you can now use strings, e.g. http://www.onarcade.net/page/about.html

• HTML 5 video

HTML 5 video support out of box.

• All comments page

Admin panel now has page that lists all submitted comments. On separate tabs you can also only see comments waiting for approval and reported comments.

• File type removed from Submit Content page

onArcade now guesses file type based on file extension. File type still has to be selected when adding file in admin panel.
